Slowly but surely…

February 21, 2008

It’s been a busy few weeks for me away from the tables, but I’m slowly easing myself back to the virtual felt. I’ve had plenty of time to think about the game and to do a bit of self-analysis.

Self-analysis is one of the most important aspects of your poker game.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look once in a while, you could miss it!

- Ferris Beuler -

This same quote can be applied to poker. If you don’t stop to analyse your game once in a while you could potentially miss out on pinpointing any problems you may have. Stopping and looking for areas where you can improve is a must, or you will find yourself going nowhere in the poker world. There are loads of ways to do it, and here are a few of the things I have done…… Read more

Lazy Winter Sundays’

It’s what winter Sunday’s are for isn’t it? Lazing around, open newspapers on the lounge coffee table, this morning’s breakfast dishes still piled up in the kitchen. Slopping about in sweats not really dressed, hair un-brushed and still magnificently vertical.

Warm cooking smells coming from the kitchen, some old black & white movie running unwatched on the TV. A pile of clothes washing sitting in the basket by the washing machine, waiting for someone (me) to make the supreme sacrifice of donating 5 minutes of their Sunday afternoon, spent in pushing said clothes into the machine closing the door and hitting the run switch.. hmm.. nope still can’t gather the energy for that one yet.

My arse is somehow magically glued to my computer chair and unless there is a sudden potentially fatal ‘cup-of-tea’ shortage it is going to remain glued until at least.. oh I dunno.. at the earliest dinner time I reckon.

.. Winter Sunday’s rock. :) …. Read more

Hey folks.. Apologies for the tumble-weed strewn halls of my blog..

It has been a torrid couple of months, what with my lifestyle being turned upside down by my recent diagnosis of diabetes, the non arrival of summer, the building of the new website and several other things getting in the way. I simply have not had much time or inclination left in me at the end of the day to sit here and bash away at the keyboard.

Poker has been on the back burner for the last 10 weeks or so, I might have played 5-6 games in this period.

Much of my online time has been taken up with building my new website. Actually much of the last 8 weeks has been wasted because of the way my hosting providers configured their servers, after weeks of reconfiguring code and stuff I finally came to the conclusion it would be a lot easier to re-host my site with a provider that was more flexible…. A Back-Side Semi-Bluff?

March 27, 2007

Well it has been a few days since I updated the blog…

Let’s see, what has happened since my last post, hmm?

Have had a couple of nights kicking around with some of the Skype crew, played a few SNG’s with them. Made about $125 profit playing the smaller buy-ins with them over the last week or so, played only two $20 SNG’s, busted out on one, then bubbled out on a river card on the 2nd one.

Not really concerned about the that, 9 times out of 10 I’d have taken it down, so I know all I have to do is continue at it and I’ll be making money over the long term.

Just a quick one

Last night, I ran into the Dog and Blagz at Absolute.

Played in a Omaha H/L Pot limit (Dogs favorite game) $5 sng. I got second place. Pretty good for me since my Omaha H/L game is pretty weak.

Then, Dog and I (Blagz was tired. It was real late for him) went over to a $5 sng NLHE table. I got second there also.

“Pink” – Cherry Heaven

Ok, it’s official, don’t believe a word I type in this blog.Whilst chin-wagging in the league chat room last night with a few of the members, Lardog confesses he wants to play the evening league game, (even though he is on a weeks sabbatical) because it is Omaha HL PL. His reasoning was that the maniacs or chasers would not find it so easy to chase, in what could be seen as more of a ‘chasing’ kind of format.
