Its always great when you hit a Royal - I've been lucky enough to have had a 3 or 4 in my playing career (2 in NLHE) and it definately gives you a boost psychologically. And WTG on winning the game too mate!

Lippy, 134th place without a re-buy? That is excellent. You were almost out at one point too. I would consider that a victory.
If you remember, after about the 3rd hand, there was already someone with 17K in chips.
I play re-buys with my own mental challenge of seeing how far I can get WITHOUT re-buying. Getting into the money would be icing on the cake but learning to play in a rebuy tourny (which is a lot different than a freeze out) is my ultimate goal. Higher placings will follow as we all get better.
Great Job.

Yes it was a rare treat to see that Royal. Especially when it happens to a friend. I have been on both ends of a Royal. Once getting my AAA44 clobbered by one which knocked me out of the game. And once actually getting the "KING" of all poker hands.

I thought I had saved mine in photobucket, but it ain't there now : ( Now I gotta search my entire PC to see if I stuck it somewhere. I think I even posted it in the old pokercards forum which by now would probably be bouncing around in cyberspace. Oh well...
The best part was seeing ya get it and all the hollerin and resulting cheers .

As far as the tournament you mention, I ended up in 134 place.
With over 700 entrants and over 1800 rebuys by those bingofest donkeys, I will consider myself well disiplined in the art of "Patience in Poker"..because that is exactly what it took to get that far in that game. Especially with the rags I had to habitually toss.
Unfortunately, I never could build a comparable stack to the other players and ended up getting nothing but trash for the remainder of the game. With the blinds eventually picking me clean, my last stand effort was with poket pair of 2's and I can't even match the big blind ..lol. I got knocked out.
So..I'll call that game a lesson in patience, which I believe I passed with flying colors, and a lesson in futility which I also recieved the highest possible marks in....sigh : (

A very sick hand. Nothing like a royal flush to boost your spirits.

Congrats Paulie!
Considering your level of play, I don't think you need Royal Flushes to win, but it is COOL
